This modest thatched-roof house was where renowned Korean painter Lee Jung-seop took refuge with his family during the Korean War. Despite the hardship of those years, his time here deeply influenced masterpieces like 'Bull' and inspired his苦 landscapes of Seogwipo. Visitors can step into the tiny room overlooking the sea and sense the struggle and artistic passion that shaped his legacy.

한국 근대 미술을 대표하는 화가 이중섭이 한국전쟁 당시 가족과 함께 피란 생활을 하며 지냈던 작은 초가집입니다. 어렵고 궁핍했던 시절이었지만 이곳에서의 경험은 그의 대표작 '황소', '섶섬이 보이는 풍경' 등에 깊은 영향을 주었습니다. 서귀포 앞바다가 내려다보이는 소박한 방 한 칸에서 예술가의 고단했던 삶과 예술혼을 함께 느껴볼 수 있습니다.
