2026 Korea Minimum Wage: ₩10,320/Hour — Are You Actually Getting It?
Korea’s minimum wage for 2026 is ₩10,320 per hour, applying equally across every industry, every visa type, and every employer size. Yet many foreign workers — especially in part-time and hourly jobs — are quietly paid below this without realizing it, often because their monthly salary looks reasonable on paper but doesn’t account for their actual scheduled hours correctly.
The part almost everyone misses: if you’re paid a fixed monthly salary instead of an hourly wage, your real hourly rate isn’t just “salary ÷ hours you clock in.” Korean law requires your paid hours to include weekly holiday pay (주휴수당) if you work 15+ hours a week — which is why a 40-hour work week is usually paid as if it were about 209 hours a month, not 173. If your employer calculated your salary using only your clocked hours, your real hourly wage may be below minimum even if the monthly number looks fine.
How to use it:
- Hourly Wage tab — enter your hourly rate for an instant pass/fail check against ₩10,320.
- Monthly Salary tab — enter your monthly salary and contracted weekly hours. The calculator works out your true hourly rate (including required weekly holiday hours) and tells you the legal minimum monthly salary for your schedule.
Important: Korea’s minimum wage law protects every worker in the country, regardless of nationality or visa status — including E-9, E-7, H-2, D-2, and Working Holiday visa holders. If your calculated rate falls short, you can file a complaint with the Ministry of Employment and Labor at 1350.
