Overview

Located on the southern coast of Gangneung, Jeongdongjin is Korea's most famous spot for watching the sunrise, gaining fame as a filming location for the drama 'Sandglass' and becoming the terminus for sunrise trains from Seoul. Its train station holds a Guinness World Record for being the closest to the sea, and visitors can explore the coastline by rail bike, passing through Hourglass Park along the way.
