Daereungwon is a cluster of ancient royal tombs from the Silla Kingdom, spread across Gyeongju's Nodong-dong, Noseo-ri, Hwangnam-dong, Hwango-dong, and Inwang-dong districts. Highlights include Geumgwanchong, where a magnificent gold crown was unearthed, and Cheonmachong, famous for its painted saddle flap depicting a flying horse and open to the public. Strolling among the gently rounded burial mounds feels almost dreamlike, and the spot beside a lone magnolia tree has become a popular photo destination, even featured in a hit Korean drama.
