Chilbulsa Temple, Hadong · 하동 칠불사

Tucked deep within the Jirisan Mountain range, Chilbulsa Temple carries the legend of seven princes of the ancient Gaya kingdom who all attained enlightenment together here. The temple is especially notable for Ajabang, an ondol-heated room considered the origin of Korea's traditional underfloor heating system. The peaceful forest trail leading to the temple makes the visit all the more rewarding.

지리산 자락 깊은 곳에 자리한 칠불사는 가야국 김수로왕의 일곱 왕자가 출가해 나란히 성불했다는 전설이 전해지는 유서 깊은 사찰입니다. 특히 온돌 기법의 원형으로 알려진 아자방(亞字房)이 유명해 건축사적으로도 큰 의미를 지니고 있습니다. 울창한 숲길을 따라 오르는 여정 자체가 힐링이 되는 곳입니다.
