Naksansa Temple · 낙산사

Founded in 671 by the monk Uisang, Naksansa Temple in Yangyang is one of Korea's three sacred sites dedicated to the Bodhisattva of Mercy, perched dramatically above the East Sea as part of the celebrated Gwandong Palgyeong scenic route. Highlights include the towering Haesu Gwaneum statue, the cliffside pavilion Uisangdae, and the seaside hermitage Hongryeonam, all rebuilt to their former glory after a devastating 2005 wildfire. Visitors can also join the tradition of stacking a small stone atop the temple's stone towers while making a wish.

강원 양양의 낙산사는 671년 의상대사가 창건한 유서 깊은 고찰로, 한국 3대 관음성지 중 하나이자 동해 절경을 자랑하는 관동팔경의 명소입니다. 해수관음상과 의상대, 홍련암 등 바다를 배경으로 한 볼거리가 가득하며, 2005년 화재로 소실된 전각들도 지금은 말끔히 복원되었습니다. 돌탑에 작은 돌을 얹으며 소원을 빌어보는 것도 이곳에서 놓치지 말아야 할 특별한 경험입니다.
