Gangneung Seongyojang House · 강릉 선교장

Located near Gyeongpo Lake, Seongyojang is a grand aristocratic house from the Joseon Dynasty, still inhabited by descendants of the original family after more than 300 years. Its living quarters, guest hall, and the scenic Hwallajeong Pavilion built over a pond offer a vivid glimpse into upper-class life of the era.

경포호 인근에 자리한 선교장은 조선시대 사대부가의 품격을 고스란히 간직한 대저택으로, 300년 넘게 후손들이 실제 거주해 온 살아있는 문화유산입니다. 안채와 사랑채, 연못 위 정자 활래정까지 갖춘 구조는 당시 상류층의 생활상을 생생하게 보여줍니다.
