Dongnimmun (Independence Gate) · 독립문

Dongnimmun, or Independence Gate, is a historic granite monument in Seodaemun-gu built to symbolize Korea's aspiration for sovereignty and independence. Modeled after Paris's Arc de Triomphe, it stands within Independence Park, offering visitors insight into Korea's modern history.

독립문은 자주독립의 염원을 담아 세운 서울 서대문구의 대표적인 근대 건축 유산입니다. 프랑스 파리의 개선문을 본떠 화강암으로 지어졌으며, 주변 독립공원과 함께 한국 근현대사를 살펴볼 수 있는 의미 있는 장소입니다.
