Sungnyemun Gate · 숭례문

Sungnyemun, designated as South Korea's National Treasure No. 1, once served as the main southern gate of Seoul's ancient fortress wall during the Joseon Dynasty. Though damaged by fire, it was carefully restored using traditional techniques and now stands proudly in the heart of the city. Beautifully illuminated at night, it remains an iconic symbol of Seoul's rich history.

숭례문은 조선시대 서울을 둘러싼 성곽의 정문으로, 대한민국 국보 제1호로 지정된 유서 깊은 문화유산입니다. 화재로 큰 피해를 입었지만 전통 방식으로 복원되어 지금도 서울 도심 한복판에서 옛 도성의 위엄을 전하고 있습니다. 야간에는 조명이 더해져 고즈넉한 분위기를 자아내는 도심 속 랜드마크입니다.
