Heunghwamun Gate of Gyeonghuigung Palace · 경희궁 흥화문

Heunghwamun is the main gate of Gyeonghuigung Palace, one of the five grand palaces built during the Joseon Dynasty, and it has an interesting history of being relocated and later restored to its original site. Though modest in scale, the gate reflects the refined architectural style typical of Joseon royal structures. It offers visitors a peaceful glimpse into royal history right in the heart of downtown Seoul.

흥화문은 조선시대 5대 궁궐 중 하나인 경희궁의 정문으로, 원래 자리에서 옮겨졌다가 다시 궁궐 앞으로 돌아온 사연을 지니고 있습니다. 소박하지만 단정한 건축미를 지닌 이 문은 궁궐 전체의 역사를 상징적으로 보여주는 관문입니다. 서울 도심 속에서 조선 왕실의 흔적을 조용히 느껴볼 수 있는 장소입니다.
