Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, Gyeongju · 경주 동궁과 월지
Overview
Once part of a royal Silla palace complex, this site served as the residence of the crown prince and the venue for lavish banquets celebrating national events or welcoming distinguished guests. Long known as Anapji Pond, it was renamed Wolji—meaning 'moon-reflecting pond'—after pottery inscribed with that name was unearthed here. Today, the restored pavilions beautifully illuminated at night and mirrored in the pond make it one of Gyeongju's most stunning nighttime attractions.

신라 왕궁의 별궁 터로, 왕자가 거처하며 국가적 경사나 귀빈 접대 시 연회를 베풀던 장소입니다. 한때 안압지로 불렸으나 '달이 비치는 연못'이라는 뜻의 명문이 새겨진 토기가 발견되면서 월지라는 본래 이름을 되찾았습니다. 복원된 건물과 연못에 비친 화려한 야간 조명이 어우러져 경주를 대표하는 야경 명소로 손꼽힙니다.
