Yeongju Modern History and Culture Street · 영주근대역사문화거리

Tucked into Yeongju's old town, this street preserves railway housing, traditional hanok, a church, a rice mill, and a barbershop that once shaped everyday life in the modern era. Highlights include the vintage milling machines at Punggok Rice Mill, once central to Gyeongbuk's grain trade, the Gothic-style Yeongju Jeil Church built in 1909, and Yeonggwang Barbershop, which still operates today.

영주 구도심 골목을 따라 옛 철도 관사와 근대한옥, 교회, 정미소, 이발소 등이 그대로 남아 있어 근대 생활상을 생생하게 느낄 수 있는 거리입니다. 일제강점기 경북 미곡 유통의 중심지였던 풍국정미소의 옛 도정 기계부터 1909년 지어진 고딕양식 영주제일교회, 지금도 영업 중인 영광 이발관까지 시간이 멈춘 듯한 풍경을 만날 수 있습니다.
