Standing guard at the entrance to Beopdong Village in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon, this stone guardian post was traditionally believed to ward off evil spirits and protect the community. Its rustic, expressive face reflects the folk beliefs and playful humor of Korea's rural ancestors.
